Santiva Chronicle – Download “Air Trek Serves Up Luxury Private Air Travel”
Air Trek, Inc. has been a Carr family business since 1978 and built from a shared passion for flying. Brothers Wayne, Dana and Lester have grown one of the nation’s premier air ambulance and private aircraft charter services with a special touch in helping people travel for business or pleasure with ease.
Air Trek is more of an on-demand service with a fleet of eight aircraft equally divided between air ambulance and private charters. Routine flights cover the western hemisphere with worldwide service available through various air carrier partnerships. Travelers can schedule a one-way or round-trip flight with premium door-to-door service. It is no-hassle travel with Air Trek attending to every detail.
It’s Cessna Citation VII jet comfortably seats eight and features an enclosed lavatory expanded to double as a dressing room. The Citation 500, heralded as one of the safest jets, can accommodate five passengers and has short-field capabilities for landing at smaller airports. The Cessna Twin Engine is ideal for in-state or multi-city flights with seating for four and also part of the air ambulance fleet.
The Cessna Citation and Citation II serve in the air ambulance fleet due to their many strong advantages including an overall larger cabin. Each of Air Trek’s ambulance aircraft are fully licensed, inspected, insured and equipped with the most up-to-date medical equipment. The versatility of its fleet allows Air Trek to design the best transport experience for patients and their family, while reducing cost and time.
The family business was born after Wayne Carr realized his childhood dream of becoming a pilot. The Air Force veteran has dedicated most of his life to flying the friendly skies and sharing that joy with others. He has taught hundreds of pilots as a certified instructor and fixed everything he’s flown as a well-trained aircraft mechanic.
Wayne naturally taught Dana and Lester how to fly and, today, the three of them play intricate rolls in the company. Wayne serves as the chief pilot and check airman; Dana is director of operations; and Lester keeps the fleet ready to fly at all times as the director of maintenance. The family legacy continues with Wayne’s son Aaron serving as CFO and a co-pilot of the Citation jets.
“We have been blessed with plenty of blue skies and tail winds, an occasional bit of turbulence and a few storms,” said Dana Carr of the past 38 years. “But through it all, it’s been a family affair and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
